11.07.2016 Hermida does not finish at the World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland
José Antonio Hermida took part today in the fourth World Cup of the season, held in the town of Lenzerheide. In the absence of 3 laps, the Multivan-Merida rider has been forced to retire, after feeling some cramps in his stomach that has been associated with a cut of digestion: "I drank cold water on one of the technical sections and 2 minutes later I started to feel some stomach cramps. I've run out of energies all of a sudden, feeling totally empty".
José traveled to Lenzerheide very motivated after his 11th place in the World Championships of last weekend and after confirming his selection for the Olympic Games in Rio, but he was unable to continue his positive trend: "to retire is something that I'm not used to. Even when having a bad day, you have to fight to finish the race, but today the bad feelings left no other option".
José is now focused on the next calendar event, the Spanish Championships, to be held next Sunday in the Galician town of Maceda, same place where the 8 times Spanish Elite Champion is a godparent of a cycling school.
